On Saturday 17th September, a mini Smiling Wings Day for two special youngsters was held at the Redhill Aviation Flight Centre at Redhill Airport in Surrey just south of London.

Captain Sam Todman of easyJet is a volunteer with the Layburry Foundation and he recognised the interest in aviation of the two young men. So, in association with Aviation Without Borders, a mini event was arranged for them to be taken flying in the capable hands of Captain Sam.

The weather that day was glorious sunshine with perfect flying conditions. For the boys the experience was an impossible dream come true and was something they will cherish for many years to come.

Said one of the mums, ‘William loved the day so much that it has fuelled his love of flying even more. It has been so motivating for him and he can’t stop talking about the experience.’

A very successful day for two special youngsters!
